Last week, the Domino Sugar Factory reopened as a futuristic brick-and-glass studded 15-story office building. The former Romanesque Revival facility stands in a prime location on the Williamsburg waterfront, steps away from recently refreshed Domino Park. Architecture Digest dives into its storied history and chronicles its epic transformation into the eco-friendly, nature-inspired 460,000-square-foot space that it is today. I’m excited to see this iconic landmark given a new lease on life…however, the challenge of renting out office space in a post-covid era (without an anchor tenant) remains. In spite of this, I have hope that the Domino Sugar Factory is inspiring and beautiful enough to change minds. What do you think?
NYC Insider: What’s Happening This Week
Tonight is the first night of Robert Glasper’s residency at the legendary Greenwich Village jazz club, Blue Note. From the minute I first heard Glasper’s sound, I knew he had something special. I’m clearly not the only one: Glasper boasts three Grammy’s and eight nominations and has worked with artists like Kendrick (To Pimp A Butterfly), Common, and Kaytranda. He’s consistently described as a visionary and trailblazer who challenges the limits of the genre. Tonight will be my first time seeing him live. If you’re interested, he’ll be at Blue Note for all of October. Grab your tickets here!

What’s Yours Is Yours
This is a recent revelation of mine that is so simple but so easy to lose sight of: what’s yours is yours. It doesn’t belong to anyone else. How many times do you trick your brain into a scarcity mindset? You hear someone’s update and think to yourself “that opportunity was supposed to be mine.” My opportunity, my listing, my situation, my achievement. When you think negative thoughts, you self-talk it into existence. But just remember, when you’ve done the work and built the foundation, no one can take that away from you. You may have hiccups and bumps along the way, but your time is coming. Stay the course.

Before you go…
🏠: Miranda Prisley’s Manhattan Townhouse, featured in the “Devil Wears Prada” sells for $26.5M.
🎵: Oh boy! Lil Wayne just dropped The Fix Before Tha VI, a mixtape of ten joints to hold us over until Tha Carter VI drops. Wayne’s in a league of his own.
🥙: One of my favorite Brooklyn grocery stores, Sahadi’s, is opening up in Manhattan inside Market57, the new James Beard food hall which opened up at Pier 57 in Chelsea.
🏢: According to RedFin, 1 in 10 Home Sellers are moving because they’re being called back to the office. Personally, I love being in the office and seeing people face to face. It’s where the magic happens!
