Real Estate Remix
Building Legacy, Shaping the Future
I’m pulling up to Charlotte for the Second Annual Second Annual BLK at Compass Real Estate Summit and I’m hyped. This isn’t just another conference with lukewarm coffee and buzzwords. It’s a movement: Black real estate pros linking up to share game, build power, and move the industry from the inside out.
Two days of panels that actually say something, workshops you’ll use on Monday, and networking that goes deeper than “shoot me an email.” I’m excited to add my voice to the room, and just as excited to learn from the folks who are shaping what’s next.
This year’s theme: “Building Community For Us, By Us” is exactly my frequency: creating opportunity, stacking legacy, and making sure our people thrive no matter what the market’s doing. I’m excited to share my takeaways and follow @aaronseawood on Instagram for real-time updates.

NYC Insider: What’s Happening This Week
The W Hotel in Union Square just treated itself to a $100M glow-up. After two years under scaffolding, this Beaux-Arts beauty is back as W’s global flagship. The redesign makes the statement you’d expect: velvet headboards, ombré walls, and a swirling, art-soaked staircase that drops you into the Living Room, with Devoción coffee by day and cocktails by night. On the ground floor you’ll find Seahorse, a seafood brasserie courtesy of Chef John McDonald (of Lure Fishbar fame). The coup de grâce? The W has the neighborhood’s only rooftop bar, leveling up the entire scene. Let’s make a plan to grab a bite or drinks, who’s in?
Weekly Gem 💎
Your Pace, Your Power
The world will rush you: deadlines, trends, everyone sprinting like slow is a sin. But rushing is how people trip over blessings that were already in their lane.
I had to learn this the hard way in my early music industry days where I was caught up in the hype. I was a speed racer trying to “get there” so quickly that I inevitably crashed (figuratively). I had to rein in my ego, mend fences, and recalibrate to a sustainable pace.
Power isn’t speed. Power is rhythm. It’s moving at the pace that lets you stay clear, consistent, and in control.
This week, don’t measure yourself against someone else’s clock. Don’t let “fast” confuse you for “forward.”
When you honor your pace, you own the outcome.
🜂 Your lane. Your timing. Your win.
