What Up Family?

Welcome to The Edit with Aaron Seawood, a brand new lifestyle letter serving a weekly dose of real estate, culture, and wisdom—all in three minutes or less. Let’s dive in.

Real Estate Remix

Last week a condo in Midtown’s skyscraping 432 Park Avenue went into contract for $92 Million, making it one of the most expensive sales of the year. The residence spans over 8,000 square feet and was designed by Japanese architect Hiroshi Sugimoto; it’s furnished with 60-year-old Bonsai trees, cedar shutters, and a traditional Japanese tea room. Despite the hefty price tag, the residence went into contract considerably lower than its original asking price of 135M. Personally, I’m more of a townhouse guy, but I have to admit it’s tough to beat those city views.

NYC Insider: What’s Happening This Week

There are only two more chances this year to enjoy the Uptown Night Market—Harlem’s open-air food and drink festival that celebrates culture, cuisine, and community. The vibes are immaculate, the food is divine, and the music is dope. The next one is happening tomorrow, Sept 14th, who will I see there??

Weekly Wisdom 💎

Trust Your Power

This Saturday my family and I will be celebrating Rosh Hashanah, which is the beginning of the Jewish New Year. On holidays such as this, I like to reflect on the past year and practice gratitude for my family, my career, and my health. Like most, I remember coming to New York in my early 20s with a dollar and a dream. It was scary at times, but I learned to dig deep and stand on the rock of faith. It’s so much easier to imagine the worst than to believe everything’s going to be alright. It’s OK to be nervous, but don’t be afraid. You manifested this moment, you made it here, you got this far. Whatever your goal, whatever your why, just know that it’s darkest before dawn, and sometimes…success is just hanging in there. Here’s to a sweet new year!

Breathtaking, inside and out, this Carroll Gardens Duplex at 291 Union St, Unit 3B boasts a massive 2000 SF private patio. Here’s what else it has to offer:

  • 6-person, chlorine-free, copper hot tub (say what!
  • 18-foot tall ceilings flanked by a wall of West-facing windows
  • 3-bed, 3-bath, plus a home office
  • Two garage parking spaces
  • Who wants a tour?

Before you go…

🤳: An interesting read by Vox on how social media (TikTok in particular) has transformed the concert experience. I know I have thoughts…give it a read and let’s chat!

🎵: Luxury Life by Busta Rhymes feat. Coi Leray is my song of the week. A classic flip of Jay-Z’s “Ain’t No…” and my guy Benny Boom directed the short film with a nod to Pulp Fiction.

👟: Still wrapping my head around the latest Shrek x Crocs collab. My kids are either going to hate it or think it’s the coolest. What’s your vote?

🍱: Definitely couldn’t have called this one: NYC’s hottest new restaurant is a $225 tasting menu underneath the Herald Square subway station.
