What Up Family?

Welcome to The Edit with Aaron Seawood, a lifestyle letter serving a weekly dose of real estate, culture, and wisdom—all in three minutes or less. Let’s dive in.

Real Estate Remix

Last year, the NY Times showed us glimpses into homes around the world. From cozy Quebec ski chalets to Maltese manors, Caribbean cottages, and Chilean villas, these 10 listings were the most viewed. The five-acre, solar-powered home in Tulum for $800,000 certainly has my attention—the contemporary indoor/outdoor flow and use of natural materials are dope, plus the rooftop pool puts it over the edge. The thatched-roof cottage in Normandy, which has views of the Vallée D’Auge for $650,000, is loaded with charm. Can you guess where the number 1 most viewed home was?? If buying abroad is on your 2025 bucket list, I have partners worldwide who can fill you in on the intricacies of buying in a new market. Reach out today if you’re curious about how the process works.

NYC Insider: What’s Happening This Week

Cautious Clay’s music is engrossing. Blending R&B, hip-hop, and experimental indie, his sound is soulful and rich. At the end of the month, he’s coming to one of my favorite jazz clubs in the city, Blue Note, for a quick run (Jan 30 – Feb 2). Tickets are nearly sold out, so I’d act quickly if you want to see him live. Get them here

Weekly Gem 💎

Make time for self-care.

I’ve got a quick but essential gem for you this week: take care of yourself. Self-care is so damn important that it should be at the top of your priority list, especially with these shorter, colder days and post-holiday blues. Whether that means blocking out alone time, booking a workout class, connecting with friends, or simply taking a few deep breaths, discover what self-care means for you and MAKE TIME FOR IT. If it’s easier to remove something stressful, that qualifies as well.

Who wants a tour?

Before you go…

💸: Here are the 7 most expensive home sales of the year—these homes sold for $100M and above!

🌊: These islands are the No. 1 trending travel destination (based on Google searches).

👟: The most anticipated sneaker releases of 2025 are here. Personally, I can’t wait for the Undefeated 4s, but re-releasing a Holy Grail sneaker is a slippery slope.

🍫 Wow, this looks good, but the ‘very bitter’ gives me pause. Anyone want to try it with me?
