What Up Family?
Welcome to The Edit with Aaron Seawood, a lifestyle letter serving a weekly dose of real estate, culture, and wisdom—all in three minutes or less. Let’s dive in.
Real Estate Remix
Big update for all my Brooklyn waterfront residents, the city of New York is taking control of 120 acres of land stretching from Brooklyn Bridge Park to Red Hook. From a size perspective, this deal represents the city government’s largest real estate transaction in more than two decades. The city plans to develop the land into housing, retail, green spaces, and an environmentally-friendly port. I think it’s great to see these areas of Brooklyn receiving the attention and care they deserve. With greater transport options, I see Red Hook being a top neighborhood for buyers in Brooklyn.
NYC Insider: What’s Happening This Week
The NYCxDESIGN Festival has been running dope events all last week and weekend. While many have sadly passed (I’ll do better reminding you next year, I promise!), there’s still time to catch events today and tomorrow before the festival ends tomorrow, May 23rd. From exhibits to gallery tours, trade shows, and artists talks, this is NYC’s official celebration of design. Check out their calendar here.

Everybody That Comes With You, Can’t Go With You
Throughout my life, many people were once in my inner circle who no longer are. As you get older, you realize not everyone is built on growth. Some people are static, and others are dynamic. Inevitably, everybody who comes with you can’t go with you. There are a few reasons for this: they’re not willing to sacrifice as much, work as hard as you, replace bad habits with new ones, invest in themselves, or simply grow apart and start caring about different things. As difficult as it is to no longer have those people in your immediate circle, it’s for the best. I’m here for you and every other self-starter, so let’s grow, family!
