📈 Connecticut gets an influx of disaffected New Yorkers

As expected, some wealthy New Yorkers are swapping city skylines for suburban serenity, and Connecticut is cashing in.

Although it’s been a trend for a while, following Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani’s win, this natural exodus has accelerated. This is mainly driven by the premise that anticipated policy shifts, such as making the city more affordable, will lead to safety issues and other concerns.

Not surprisingly, open houses in Greenwich are overflowing. One broker expects up to 60 parties per listing, nearly triple the norm. Prices are soaring, too: homes are selling more than $500K over ask as demand outpaces inventory.

Today’s buyers are families with couples in their 30s and 40s cashing out of Manhattan condos and putting down roots in Fairfield County towns like New Canaan, Stamford, and Norwalk. Given this is the typical path for this group, the election results merely gave them a push to make the move earlier.

Whether you call it a flight to quality, the “Mamdani Effect,” or people not wanting to see how some of these affordable initiatives play out, the Connecticut market is moving fast.

Weekly Gem 💎

Getting Free is a Messy Necessity.

My 11/11 Birthday Reflection

Three years ago, I proclaimed rather loudly, “I just wanna be free,” and proceeded to put a sticky note on my computer: GET FREE. That was the beginning of it all.

I didn’t know what that meant in real life. I just knew that I was unhappy, unfulfilled, and feeling like significant change was in the wind. I had no idea what freedom would unravel: facing myself, lifetime-old traumas surfacing, crying my heart out, and sitting in rooms where only truth could enter. Those early days were HARD. Real Hard. Messy. Necessary. Divine.

Then came… My return to Compass. My divorce. My phoenix moment.

Complete Surrender and Return to Self.

The moment I stopped trying to figure it out and started letting life move through me, that’s where the real peace began. I still cried; it was still hard. I was healing so much so fast, and many days blurred together.

But there was something unmistakable happening underneath, like springtime before the first bud breaks through the earth. Through it all, I had an unshakable faith that the best version of me was on the way.

Today, I can confidently say that all of that inner work paid off. For the first time, I love and accept myself unconditionally. I have a fantastic partner who held space for me, showed me what healing looks like, and was my biggest cheerleader in those dark moments.

Now, I move with a full knowing of why I’m here: to raise my vibration and the collective consciousness.

I no longer chase clarity; I embody it. I don’t perform alignment; I am alignment. I AM THE LIGHT.

The need to control the outcome is gone. I now go into every situation expecting the best, knowing what’s for me won’t miss me.

I trust.

I flow.

I collapse timelines.
I feel my way forward.

I meditate and do auto-writing every morning.

I document my wins the night before to prime my field.

Anything can happen in an instant!

So, this new season isn’t about becoming someone new.
It’s about celebrating that I now remember who I am, who I’ve always been, and living like I never forgot.

This is 56… and it feels fucking awesome.
