Compass To Become The World’s Largest Brokerage? 🤯

September 24, 2025

What Up Family?!

Welcome to The Edit with Aaron Seawood, a lifestyle letter serving a weekly dose of real estate, culture, and wisdom—all in three minutes or less. Let’s dive in.

Real Estate Remix

Compass just dropped a bombshell: a $1.6 billion all-stock acquisition of Anywhere, the parent company of Corcoran, Sotheby’s, Coldwell Banker, and a few more heavy hitters, potentially closing in late 2026. If approved, together we would be the world’s largest residential brokerage, a $10 billion giant with 340,000 agents spread across 120 countries.

By bringing the top two U.S. brokerage players under one roof, it unlocks reach, resources, and collaboration on a global scale. For agents, that means sharper tools, deeper market insights, and a platform that keeps us ahead of the curve. For clients, it means unprecedented exposure, access, and confidence that no matter where you’re buying or selling, from Brooklyn brownstones to international estates, you’ve got the strongest team in the business working for you.

For those of us in the field, this merger is about delivering better experiences and raising the bar on what real estate service can be. It is important to note that each brand will continue to deliver on its unique promise so that won’t get lost in the merger.

On a personal note, I’m excited to be reunited with my Corcoran family, where I learned the ropes from the best in my early days. The future is bright!

NYC Insider: What’s Happening This Week

⛳ Ryder Cup Energy Takes Over Rockefeller Plaza

This month, the first tee comes to Midtown. Starting tomorrow, from Sept 25–28, Rockefeller Plaza flips into a Ryder Cup playground with a Toptracer sim of Bethpage Black’s nerve-wracking opener. Best of all, it’s free to the public! (Because only in New York do you take a driver to Rock Center!)

Pre-register or simply walk up to catch the action. There will also be the FDNY vs. NYPD in a closest-to-the-pin battle, PGA Jr. League kids chasing long-drive glory, and even the Today Show kicking things off live.

Weekly Gem 💎

The Answer’s Already in You

We burn so much time chasing what’s outside: scrolling, signing up for courses, waiting for somebody else to hand us the map. Like the blueprint is always out there, just beyond our reach.

But nine times out of ten? You already know.

I experienced this myself when I contemplated being front forward with my spirituality in all endeavors. I looked around for examples, inconspicuously got feedback on what people thought, only to receive full confirmation from my inner being that lighting the way was my calling, regardless of what anyone had to say about it.

That’s the point. The guidance didn’t come from the book, the podcast, or the post, it came from within.

This week, stop outsourcing your intuition. Stop treating your inner compass like a backup plan.

The idea you’re doubting? It’s legit, give it a chance.
The nudge you keep ignoring? It’s divine guidance.
The voice you’ve been quieting? That is the blueprint.

Tune in, trust it, and move accordingly.

You’re not missing the signal, you are the signal.
