What Up Family?

Welcome to The Edit with Aaron Seawood, a lifestyle letter serving a weekly dose of real estate, culture, and wisdom—all in three minutes or less. Let’s dive in.

Real Estate Remix

An iconic ghost town that was the filming location for dozens of notable Hollywood films and shows is for sale for $35M. Sable Ranch spans over 400 acres and was part of projects like Oppenheimer, American Horror Story, The A-Team, Haunted Mansion, and Invisible Man. While the “ghost town” is the most recognizable area from the movies, the property includes a two-story ranch house, a large red barn, and a Spanish-style hacienda. It’s certainly a unique opportunity to own a piece of Hollywood history. Do you recognize it??

NYC Insider: What’s Happening This Week

If you’re a big reader like myself, I wanna give a shout-out to Reading Rhythms—a reading party. You read that right! It’s hosted in various venues (think bars, cafes, parks) all across the city and brings together readers of all genres. After some silent reading, people gather in groups to discuss common themes. Most of their events cost ~$20, but they’re hosting a free outdoor reading party in Hudson Yards this Tuesday, Oct 22nd. If you’re looking for a new book, hit me up, as I’ve got plenty of great recs! Who will I see there?!

Weekly Gem 💎

Real is Rare, Fake is Everywhere.

Today’s gem is a reminder that you have a choice to make. You can take two paths in life: the hard route is to be real and authentic. To choose to own the skin you’re in and to own your passion, politics, point of view, and thoughts. The easier route is to be fake, follow the crowd, and do what everyone else does. It’s not an easy choice. Real people face an uphill battle, as it can be alienating and lonely to do your own thing away from the crowd. If you’ve chosen to go the fake route, no judgment at all. The gem for today is simply that you have a choice. These two paths exist—so double-check that you’re on the right path for you.

The Best Homes on the Market This Week

Here are three of my favorite fly listings in NYC across all price points.  Because Team Carte Blanche is all about the people, not the price.

620 Park Ave, 14

$19,750,000   4 Bed / 3.2 Bath   Lenox Hill

A truly exquisite combination of exceptional architecture, stunning interior design, outdoor magnificence, and breathtaking views. Blocks from Central Park, this duplex apartment is set above the rest. It’s a home meant for cozy fall nights spent cooking together and relaxing on the terrace. What a space!

130 Furman St, S111

$4,600,000    2 Bed / 2.5 Bath    Brooklyn Heights

Set in one of Brooklyn Heights’ most coveted addresses, the Pierhouse at 130 Furman, this beautiful home is spacious, elegant, and state-of-the-art. There are generously sized rooms and closets, a private landscaped garden and balcony, and countless amenities.

450 Clinton St, 4B

$915,000   1 Bed / 1 Bath    Carroll Gardens

A spacious and bright 1-bed in Carroll Gardens for under $1M?! Rarely available, this home won’t last long. It’s housed in the steeple of the Old Westminster Church Co-op and boasts oversized and original arch-shaped windows. The layout ensures a great flow with generously sized rooms. My favorite part is the bedroom reading nook.

Who wants a tour?

Before you go…

🍸: Nobu x KWAS tequila?! The bottles and casing sure look fly.

🎨: The four most beautiful museums in NYC. How many have you been to?

⛰️: I’m pretty stunned at this California home built directly into a cliffside!

🐶: A “Soho house for dogs” is coming to Williamsburg. You know I’m a dog person, and Knox is my guy. But I’m not sure how I feel about this…
