What Up Family?
Welcome to The Edit with Aaron Seawood, a lifestyle letter serving a weekly dose of real estate, culture, and wisdomâall in three minutes or less. Letâs dive in.Â
Real Estate RemixÂ
An iconic ghost town that was the filming location for dozens of notable Hollywood films and shows is for sale for $35M. Sable Ranch spans over 400 acres and was part of projects like Oppenheimer, American Horror Story, The A-Team, Haunted Mansion, and Invisible Man. While the âghost townâ is the most recognizable area from the movies, the property includes a two-story ranch house, a large red barn, and a Spanish-style hacienda. Itâs certainly a unique opportunity to own a piece of Hollywood history. Do you recognize it??Â
NYC Insider: Whatâs Happening This WeekÂ
If youâre a big reader like myself, I wanna give a shout-out to Reading Rhythmsâa reading party. You read that right! Itâs hosted in various venues (think bars, cafes, parks) all across the city and brings together readers of all genres. After some silent reading, people gather in groups to discuss common themes. Most of their events cost ~$20, but theyâre hosting a free outdoor reading party in Hudson Yards this Tuesday, Oct 22nd. If youâre looking for a new book, hit me up, as Iâve got plenty of great recs! Who will I see there?!Â
Weekly Gem đ
Real is Rare, Fake is Everywhere. Â
Todayâs gem is a reminder that you have a choice to make. You can take two paths in life: the hard route is to be real and authentic. To choose to own the skin youâre in and to own your passion, politics, point of view, and thoughts. The easier route is to be fake, follow the crowd, and do what everyone else does. Itâs not an easy choice. Real people face an uphill battle, as it can be alienating and lonely to do your own thing away from the crowd. If youâve chosen to go the fake route, no judgment at all. The gem for today is simply that you have a choice. These two paths existâso double-check that youâre on the right path for you.
