A new report from Redfin reveals promising data that shows the market is tilting in favor of buyers. In the last four weeks, the median sale price rose 3.7% annuallyâthe smallest increase since September. Weâve also seen increased inventory, homes selling for 2% less on average than the asking price, and sitting on the market longer (57 days, the longest in five years). However, like I always say, real estate is a hyper-local industry, and it seems these numbers are truer for Sun Belt markets (Florida and Texas) versus the Northeast. Regardless of your city, hot neighborhoods, rare, one-of-a-kind homes, and well-priced units will continue to sell quickly and for a premium. NYC Insider: Whatâs Happening This WeekÂ
Itâs hard to believe weâre already in the last week of February and Black History Month is coming to an end. This month reminds us to celebrate the instrumental role and incredible achievements of Black people throughout history. If you havenât had the opportunity to support and honor this month in the way you anticipated, here are some ideas:Â
- Brooklyn Museum x Kith: One of my favorite brands, Kith, teamed up with the BK Museum for a special capsule collection. The collection features the artwork of several Black artists on Museum clothing (shout out to @MarcusTroy) Plus, 50% of the proceeds go directly to the artists. Check it out here!
- Drunk Black History: This Friday, comedian Brandon Collins, will perform a drunk comedy lesson in Black history. Thereâll be a lot of laughs and special guests.Â
- Visit the Tenement Museum: In December, the museum opened a new permanent exhibit that follows Black New Yorkers, Joseph and Rachel Moore. This is the first time a Black familyâs story and home is shown at the museum.Â
