👏 Brooklyn’s 12 Biggest Homes Sales 👏

March 19, 2025

What Up, Family?

Welcome to The Edit with Aaron Seawood, a lifestyle letter serving a weekly dose of real estate, culture, and wisdom—all in three minutes or less. Let’s dive in.

Real Estate Remix

Those who know me, know my love runs deep for a BK Townhouse. (I love that mix of historic details and vertical living). So I wasn’t surprised when PropertyShark shared the data on the 12 biggest residential sales in Brooklyn in 2024, and townhouses dominated the list. The most expensive sale last year belongs to 1 Sidney Place, a five-story Anglo-Italianate brick house in Brooklyn Heights with a garage that sold for $22.1M in July (hey Lindsay! đŸ‘‹đŸœ ) The buyers were Glossier founder Emily Weiss and Stripe exec William Gaybrick. However, the existing record for most expensive residential sale stayed intact. That happened in 2020, when 8 Montague Terrace, a five-story brownstone mansion (also situated in Brooklyn Heights, along the Promenade), sold off-market for $25.5M.

NYC Insider: What’s Happening This Week

The Affordable Art Fair is back again just in time for spring home refreshes. The fair starts today and runs until this Sunday and as usual, there’ll be hundreds of galleries and artists selling artwork anywhere from $100 to $12,000. Even when I’m not in the market for a new piece, I love strolling through (typically on a weekday before prime busy hours) and seeing what catches my eye. Inspiration and creativity are everywhere once you learn when and how to lean into it! Grab your tickets here.

Weekly Gem 💎

Doubt creates delays

How many times have we sent out rockets of desire (things we want from the universe) be it more money, a promotion, a new love, whatever, and then undermined said request by doubting it can happen? Upon hearing your request, the universe quietly goes into action, almost as if ‘calling a play,’ to put things in place for it to materialize (nudges, random synchronicities, etc). Then, as if on cue, after what we’ve deemed enough time has passed, we start to overthink, doubt seeps in, and we become skeptical that it’s even possible. How’s that gonna happen? When is it gonna happen? You have to detach from the ‘how’ and ‘when’ and expect the best possible outcome. Our world is built on vibration and if we are not in alignment with self and sincerely believe that we are worthy, then the universe is forced to ‘call an audible’ and wait to deliver your desires. Believe, and I mean truly believe, and you shall receive. Abundance awaits.
