Real Estate RemixÂ
Big news for my Cali residents! My home state made history this past weekend as a $210M Malibu home purchase shattered records for the most expensive home sale in history. The seller was Oakley founder, James Jannard, and tops the previous record Jay-Z and Bey set ($200M). Jannard made a good investment decision, buying the home for a âmereâ $75M in 2012. The mansion is a whopping 19,340 SF and boasts 8 bedrooms, 13 baths, tennis courts, a formal rose garden, a putting green, and 300 feet of pristine California shoreline. Sales like this certainly impact the market and set a new standard for luxury prices moving forward, with Malibu leading the pack.Â
NYC Insider: Whatâs Happening This WeekÂ
This Sunday is an epic block party celebrating the 35th Anniversary of Spike Leeâs Do The Right Thing! For those who havenât seen the film, it shifted culture in 1989 with a birdâs eye view of society and race relations and is a must-watch! The party is in Bed-Stuy on Do the Right Thing Wayâbetween Quincy and Lexington Aveâin the same place where the movie was filmed. Itâs going to be iconic. Thereâll be live music, performers, and a few celebrity appearances (including me lol). Whoâs rollin?!Â
Also, happy Pride, fam! đłď¸âđ If youâre looking for a roundup of Pride events happening this weekendâfrom educational events like museum exhibits to parties, parades, and celebrationsâfind it here.Â
Weekly Gem đ
Time Heals Almost Everything Â
This gem is heavy because itâs only when youâve lived a certain amount of life that you can speak to this with some authority. Barring violations or the loss of a loved one, time passing is what gives you a fresh perspectiveâwhether it takes weeks, months, or years. It provides a lens that enables you to see things differently. Time doesnât automatically solve everything, but it certainly helps heal, as you find space to reflect and process âout of the moment.â In my many years of living, Iâve learned that time heals almost everythingâŚjust give it time!
