Real Estate RemixÂ
Derek Jeterâs castle in New York has finally found its new owner after it re-listed for less than half of its original asking price (originally $14M and re-listed for $6.3M). The four-acre lakefront home is located in Greenwood Lake and went into contract recently, more than six years after it first hit the market. The castle spans a massive 12,500 SF and includes six beds, 13 baths, five kitchens, a lagoon, a baseball diamond-shaped infinity pool, and more than 700 feet of shoreline! Looking at these photos, it certainly does resemble a Medieval castle. Reading this NY Times article, I canât help but remind my sellers of the importance of smart pricing combined with perseverance.Â
NYC Insider: Whatâs Happening This WeekÂ
There are many ways to honor Juneteenthâwhether yours is rooted in education, celebration, reflection, or action, Iâm glad to see everyone coming together to acknowledge this sacred day. NYC is an epicenter of Black history and culture, and when it comes to celebrating Juneteenth, there are plenty of options. Lincoln Center is hosting a free campus-wide concert featuring Black American artists and genres, including jazz, blues, hip-hop, R&B, rock, and zydeco. It starts at 6 pm tonightâwhoâs going?!Â
Weekly Gem đ
Clear the air.Â
I filmed a video about this one because it was so relevant. Last week, I had a friend reach out, saying they felt the energy between us had shifted after a conversation. They were right, and I appreciated them reaching out, as it takes humility and showing care and concern for our friendship. As the receiver, itâs equally important to respect and appreciate friends who do that. If you feel like a relationship has shifted, reach out and clear the air. Itâs essential to do so before things spiral out of control. Often, we find solutions with a simple conversation.
SoHoâs Newest Trophy Offering: A Glass Penthouse
Listed by my Compass colleague, Shannon Eidman
Tucked inside an ultra-private boutique building in the heart of SoHoâs Historic Cast Iron District, 39 Crosby can only be characterized by one of the most âitâs who you knowâ properties downtown. This home, Unit PH ($27.25M), is a glass-clad, ultra-sleek, exceptionally private mansion in the sky. All but one home has traded discreetly without hitting the public market; this is the first time this home has been publicly tendered. I toured a few days ago and fell in love. Here are the highlights:
- Massive 6,086 SF triplex layout with 3,400 SF private outdoor space, 5 bedrooms, 5 full baths, 2 powder rooms, and 360-degree exposures with panoramic skyline views.Â
- FOUR private outdoor spaces, including a spacious 1,221 SF roof deck replete with a fully outfitted open-air kitchen and 360 views showcasing every notable feature in NYCâs horizon.Â
- An indoor, mature-growth bamboo garden, great room with 270-degree views, and one of Manhattanâs most elusive amenitiesâtwo deeded parking spots!
- The building, built by famed architect Edward H. Kendall and meticulously restored in 2010, offers residents unparalleled spaces, high-end luxury finishes, and the utmost privacy.
